Integrating the Qmlativ Student Information System with the DESSA System

Overview:  This article contains guidance on setting up a OneRoster 1.1 scheduled export from the Report Manager in the Qmlativ SIS

Sending a Scheduled OneRoster 1.1 Export to the DESSA System:

  • Access the Report Manager in Qmlativ
  • On the left hand side menu, select “API”
  • Locate the report called One Roster (.zip)

Step 1

  • Clone the report and rename it in a way you will be able to easily identify it as the DESSA export.
  • Publish the Report

Step 2

  • In the left hand menu, select “Scheduled Reports”
  • In the top right corner, select “Add Scheduled Report”

Step 3

  • Enter a name for the Scheduled Report
  • Select the Report you will send (select the report named after your cloned One Roster report that you renamed in step 4)
  • Enter the Days to Save Report Results
  • Check the box to Automatically update if the prompts have not changed
  • Set the Frequency in which the report will be sent. We recommend sending daily to keep everything in the DESSA System up to date.
  • Check the box to Run on Live Database only
  • Select the start date that you would like to begin sending the report
  • Leave End Date blank
  • Select the start time that you would like the report to be sent. Please ensure your reports are sent before 11 PM EST to make sure they are part of the import that runs each night. Sending after this time may results in a one day delay in getting your latest files imported.

Step 4

  • Leave the Repeats during the day box unchecked.
  • Scroll Down to the “Export Location Details” section
  • Leave the automate File Name box unchecked
  • In the “Export File Name” section please name the file OneRoster.zip
  • Under “File Destination” click the “Add FTP/SFTP Connection” button
  • Enter in the SFTP information sent to you by the DESSA Data Integration Team
  • Once you have entered in that information and saved the connection, add that connection under “File Destination”
  • Save the Scheduled Report
