DESSA Student Self-Report (SSR): Student-Facing Resources

Overview

These two student-facing resources help educators and students prepare for and engage with the DESSA Student Self-Report (SSR) for middle and high school students.

  • Student-Facing Guide to Completing the DESSA Student Self-Report and Viewing Results in the Student Portal: This walkthrough resource guides students through accessing the Student Portal, reviewing the SSR introduction and directions, completing and submitting the assessment, and viewing their results. It also introduces students to the DESSA dashboard, where they can explore their strengths, review opportunities for growth, view past results, accept skill-building challenges, and set goals.
  • Student-Facing Guide to Navigating the Student Portal Activities: This walkthrough resource provides an overview of how the SSR supports social, emotional, and behavioral skill development, with an emphasis on skills that contribute to college and career readiness. It also helps students navigate Student Portal activities by accepting challenges, breaking them into manageable tasks, tracking progress, sharing updates and evidence with their teacher, and creating goals connected to their DESSA results.

Together, these resources give educators a foundation for introducing the SSR and help students understand what to expect, access their results, and use the Student Portal to reflect, set goals, and build skills.
