DESSA Student Self Report: Student Registration Guidance
This article provides guidance to educators to help their students register for the DESSA Student Portal. First-time users who do not have Single Sign On (SSO), as well as those using Clever SSO, will need to complete the registration process.
Educators can choose between two registration methods to best support their students during the registration process.
Navigate to the Registration Instructions Options
1. Login to the DESSA System by going to https://app.apertureed.com.
2. Navigate to the gear icon in the upper right-hand corner, select "Admin," "Student Self-Report," then "View Registration Details."
3. A window will pop up with Registration Instructions and based on preference there are two options for students to access registration:
- Students can use a QR code to register, available at the Class or Individual level.
- Staff can distribute Usernames to Students.
QR Code Registration
Class Level QR Code
Students scan the main QR code shown on the screen and will be taken to the Student Portal Registration Page and will enter their Username and Student ID, then create a Password.
Individual Level QR Code
Students can be provided with an individual QR code that will take them to the Student Portal Registration Page with their Username and Student ID already entered, then can create their password. To access Individual Student Registration Codes:
1. Navigate to the gear icon in the upper right-hand corner, select "Admin," "Student Self-Report," then "View Registration Details."
2. A window will pop up with Registration Instructions, Select "Print" to access the Individual Student Codes.
3. To filter even further by Rater, select "Print by Rater" to have the codes grouped by Rater Name.
📌Note: If students will not be using QR codes, select the “Hide QR Codes” checkbox to remove
Distribute Student Usernames via Exports
Some schools prefer to distribute Student Usernames via exports. To do so, follow these steps:
1. Navigate to the gear icon in the upper right-hand corner, select "Admin," Student Self-Report," and then select "Export CSV" or "Export ZIP."
2. Open the downloaded .csv or Zip file to access Student Usernames and Student IDs.
- For easier distribution and reference during student registration, consider filtering the downloaded file by Assigned Educator or Grade Level before printing and sharing the information with staff.
