DESSA Student Self Report: Accessing the Student Portal With or Without SSO

Overview:

Students who are completing the DESSA Student Self-Report will need to log in to the DESSA Student Portal. The following two access options are available:

1. Student Portal Access without Single Sign On (SSO)

2. Student Portal Access with Single Sign On (SSO) access via Clever or ClassLink

 

Student Portal Access Without Single Sign On

To access the Student Portal for the first time, students need to register their account by completing the following steps:

1. Go to the DESSA Student Student Registration Page

2. Students must enter in their DESSA Username and StudentID for registration. Teachers and/or Site Leaders have access to students' unique Usernames within the DESSA System. Review the DESSA Student Self Report: Student Registration Guidance for instructions on how to access and distribute this information.

3. When a match for the Username and StudentID occurs, the student will then proceed by creating a password, entering it again for confirmation, then clicking "Register Account" to complete the registration process.

Note: Advise students to save their password somewhere easily accessible for future DESSA use.

4. After registering their account, students can log in using their Username and chosen Password to access the DESSA Student Portal and begin using the DESSA System.

Student Portal Access with Single Sign On

ClassLink SSO: Accessing the Student Portal

If your school has ClassLink SSO enabled with the DESSA System, then it is simple for Students to access the DESSA Student Portal once you have worked with our Integrations Team to ensure the integration is turned on. 
  • To access: From the ClassLink Launch Pad, both new and returning students can select the DESSA Student App to be automatically logged in and taken directly to the DESSA Student Portal, ready to begin using the system.

Clever SSO: Accessing the Student Portal

Schools that have Clever SSO will work with our Data Integrations Team to enable the correct instance of Clever and ensure the data set is being shared to allow Student access to the DESSA Student Portal via their Clever home page.
  • For the Clever DESSA Student App
    • Students will select the DESSA Student app from their Clever home page. First-time users will either be prompted to complete a one-time registration process or logged in to the Student Portal directly (depending on the Clever App version that your program uses).
      • To Register: Students must enter their DESSA Username and StudentID. Teachers and/or Site Leaders have access to Students' unique Usernames within the DESSA Teacher Portal. Review the DESSA Student Self Report: Student Registration Guidance for instructions on how to access and distribute this information. After registering students can simply select the DESSA Student app from Clever to be immediately logged in to the DESSA Student Portal.
