Conditional Assignment & T-Score

Overview

If students receive a score within a specified range, you may prompt raters to submit another rating. For example, for students whose composite T-score is less than or equal to 40 on a specific assignment within a specific rating period, the system can automatically prompt a user to complete a full DESSA on that particular student.

Configuring Conditional Assessments

1. To configure the DESSA x Move This World System to prompt users to complete a follow-up assessment: Navigate to the gear icon in the upper right corner, then choose the option for Yearly Rating Setup.

2. Once in Yearly Rating Setup, press Continue to move past the How many rating windows do you need this year? question and stopping on the Set up your Pre-Assessment page.

3. To automatically assign a conditional assessment based on the results of a screening assessment, select Yes under the title: Should students who score below a threshold on the screener automatically require a full DESSA?

a. Yes - By default, the T-score threshold is set to 40. You may adjust this threshold by entering a different value in the box. Click on About T-Scores for further details (see image 1).

b. No - If this option is selected, click Continue to move to the Mid or Post-Assessment(s) Setup page to bypass setting up the conditional assessment.

4. Next, select Yes or No to determine if a student who scores below the threshold on their screener will be assessed using the full DESSA 2 for all remaining rating windows or start each new rating window with a fresh screener.

5. Click Continue to complete the set up and exit the Yearly Rating Setup
